Work with members in your community and make a difference

For more than 5 years, PTSD Survivors of America has worked with people all over the country to raise awareness for post traumatic stress disorder and to help those struggling to find a way out of the darkness. We can't do this alone; we need people who are willing to reach out to others and give them the support they need from people who understand.

Our online peer support group is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide support for those living with PTSD. The group is completely private, and once you've joined, you will be able to talk with others who understand you and know how you feel.

To provide support and resources for those living with PTSD while educating the public and raising awareness about post traumatic stress disorder. Unlike most organizations in this field, we do not separate based on causation; we recognize that PTSD can effect anyone.

Please join us for "Color Across America" on August 2, 2015! Together, with Dover Publishing, we are celebrating National Coloring Book Day and we need your help! Read more to see how you can access free printables and upload your own artwork to our page.

NEW YORK — Adult coloring books are giving Harper Lee a run for the money on best-seller lists this summer.

Dover Publications has sold more than 3 million adult coloring books with titles like “Flower Fashion Fantasies.” Quarto Publishing will have 1.3 million in print this year ranging from mandalas to fairies. “Secret Garden: An Inky Treasure Hunt,” by one of the genre’s most popular illustrators, Johanna Basford, remains a top seller on Amazon two years after its initial publication.

In fact, adult coloring books occupied as many of eight of the top 20 slots in a spot-check of Amazon’s best-seller list this week, including “Creative Cats” and “Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Patterns.”

THE HEALING POWER OF PEER SUPPORT

Mental health care in the form of counseling is hugely beneficial for those living with PTSD, but another way to promote healing is through peer support. Peer support is a unique way to not only receive help from others who have walked in our shoes, but to give back, as well.
